Television Stand
Building a small TV table with shelves, using mostly leftover cut-offs for a covered terrace.
This TV table will sit outside under a covered terrace. It needs to be high enough to be seen over chairs and thin enough not to get in the way.
I am using reclaimed wood for the project, and most of it is leftovers from previous builds. Because of this, one panel had to be joined from lots of small pieces (second panel in the photo) and had very little strength. But this will be the bottom shelf, and it will be supported by the box on all sides.

I started by building a simple box and splitting it in two to give me two boxes. I then created five panels for the two shelves, two sides, and tabletop. I attached the legs to the two boxes with glue and dowels.

A dry fit of the side panels made me realise I needed two front pieces to cover the gap between legs and panels.

After sanding and varnishing, the table was complete. The wheels were added to the bottom, and the middle shelf is held in with screws so it can be removed or relocated.

Here the finished table is on the terrace with the TV. You can see why the table’s height was important so the view is not blocked by the opposite chairs.
